This week the Pirates have a new tunnel with a big Pirate head with a hook for a right hand.

Poor Progreso is still missing a tunnel or banner to run through. I know the unofficial booster club for the team has been wanting to raise money for a tunnel or banner but have been denied by the school district.

Game time is only 5 minutes away.

I know I give Progreso a hard time but I think the program is heading in the right direction. They are no longer a a roll over for distirct foes.

They have been solid defensively this year and gave Rio Hondo and Port Isaybel fits with their style off plaley. Unfortunately, the Red Ants offense hasn’t been up to par.

That might change. Getting playing time late in the season is sophomore QB Juan Trevino, who has been groomed to be the signal caller sincce the seventh grade. 

Progreso coach Elvis Hernandez is hoping that Trevino will give another offenisve option other than RB Juan Vega (1,000 yards rushing), who is only a junior.

It will be intertesting to see of Progreso can really make some noise next year.
