Out of the Loop

February 7th, 2008, 4:35 am by Peter Rasmussen

Not only am I out of the loop with the McAllen High girls basketball team but I seem to be out of the loop with my newspaper carrier.

You would think that since I am a Monitor reporter, I would not have so much trouble with getting my newspaper.

About 9o percent of it is my fault really because I haven’t complained about it.

My newspaper carrier has become somewhat lazy or smart, depending on how you look at it. He or she has decided instead of coming around to the front door of my second-floor apartment to deliever the paper, he/she would just chuck it over my balcony.

I have been waken up by the paper slamming agianst my sliding glass door too many times to count. The worst part of it is that I am an Internet kind of guy so I get most of my news online, I am forgetful and forget that the paper is actually on my balcony and I don’t really go on my balcony. (I forgot to mention that this has been going on since around Thanksgiving).

I walked onto my balcony the other night and realized there is more than 70 newspapers on my balcony.

My carrier pulled a fast one on me Wednesday. When I opened my front door my newspaper was sitting there for me. I am more confused than normal. Is this a new trend of leaving my newspaper at front door or was my carrier being nice for one day?

I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
