Lingering Questions
February 9th, 2008, 5:00 am by Peter RasmussenAs of right now I’ll be covering Brownsville Pace at Edinburg North on Monday and McAllen High’s bi district game in Roma.
Im somewhat curious about Pace. They have been a Top 10 team for most of the year but the Viqueens lost the last two games of the season. I’m curious to know what people think about this. I’m not sure if Pace put on the brakes after clinching the district crown or just got outplayed but is resting player’s safe strategy? South and McHi kept the intensity going.
I always believe how a team ends the season is important. If a team is playing their best at the end of the season and have momentum it will fair better in the pllayoffs.
Look at the New York Giants. They were not the better team but were playing the better football. Coach Tom Coughlin took some flak for sticking with his starters in the final game of the regular season against the Patriots. I think it only gave them confidence.
Let me know what you think.
Hidalgo beat La Feria Friday night so the Lady Pirates will have a first-round bye. Is it better to flip like Economedes and Edinburg High or is it better break a tie by playing? I think its better to just flip.
I got to cover a boys game Friday night: http://www.rgvsports.com/sports/mchi_1493___article.xml/bulldogs_rowe.html
