Pace beats Edin. North
February 11th, 2008, 11:16 pm by Peter RasmussenIt was nice to get to cover a Brownsville school. I don’t get a chance to see much of those guys. Pace advances to play eith Ciagarroa or Sharyland in area. The Viqueens were coming off two loses to end the season and were down nine early in the game. I was a little worried about an upset before Pace put it together.
Pace’s Monica Cavazos had to leave the game after bumping heads with North’s Essence Brown. Cavazos got the worst of it. The gloves came out for the trainers so there must have been blood. Cavazos was still dazed when she tried walking off the court with help. Her legs were wobbly and needed a wheel chair.
Only minutes later it looked as if a Pace Cheerleader was injured. She fell on her last back flip. She was able to walk away without help. She looked more embarrased than anything.
There were some celebrities in attendance. Economedes coach Kelly Garrett was at North showing her support for her sister school. McHi coach Teresa Casso showed up with her posse, keeping me updated on the Memorial and Rowe games.
